I was born on February 25, 1304 in Tangier, Morocco during the Marinid Dynasty. My parents were scholars, and have descended from a Berber Tribe known as the Lawata. I am leaving today to go on an important journey known as a "hajj" to go to Mecca. I will not see my parents for more than 20 years. This is a very important day for me. I will miss my parents very dearly.
